Barry final blog 24-2-17

This will be my final blog at least for now on this platform as I don’t really know if anyone is reading at the moment. If any of you are still reading this I thank you as there is no way for you to get into contact with me about anything as I do not respond to any mail as I am not completely sure how it works. If anyone wants to give me their Email so I can pass into my system for mailing sports reports then you can. I hope that people are reading and I hope to hear from you
With Love

aussie open final 29-1-17

Roger played Rafa for the first time in 2004 in the third round of the Miami masters. Nadal leads the rivalry 23-12 to this point
A battle of the Ages happened yesterday as Roger Federrer beat Rafa Nadal by 3 sets to 2. In the first set. In the first set Roger rolled back the years as he was a tight set by 6 games to 4 and there were very few errors in his game as he looked like he was on fire. But he was making some simple errors in the se4ccond including a couple of double faults here and there. Federrer showed when he could do again in the third by breaking twice to beat Nadal by 6 games to 1 and looked unstoppable. But early he fourth set Nadal was allowed to break but and take control of the fourth. The final set was a bit of you get a game and then you lose it and serve3 did not seem to mean that much until Federrer made the difference.

Serena lead the rivalry 17-11 Serena played Venus in the second round of the Austrilian open for the first time as pros Venus won 2-0

Serena is now one behind the record set by Margret Court after beating her sister Venus in the final of the US OPEN 6-4, 6-4 and showing what it is that she could do and you could see at the early stages that both players were nervous but a break in the middle of the set was what won the first for Serena. Serena showed in the second what she could do and why she has went back to number 1 in the rankings.

aussie open 27-1-17

NADAL THROUGH IN 5

Spaniard Rafael Nadal needed 5 sets to defeat Grigor Dimtrov. In the first Set Rafa won the first quite easily as he seemed on his way to another final. Dimitrov won a tight second set that went up and down in who you thought would win it. Rafa won the third with a tie break and you thought he had control especially when he broke in the fourth but DEimitrov broke back and took it to a tie break winning the set 7-4. Rafa got an important break in the fifth which he was able to hold onto. Winning the set by 6 games to 4 and looking like the time spent on court didn’t harm him as the match lasted over 3 hours as he is in his thirties.
RECORD FINALS

Both the finals are matches that first happened ages ago the first time that Federrer and Nadal met was in 2004 and they play again this weekend that is an amazing rivalry. The first time that the Williams sisters played each other in a professional match was in 1998 and the fact that they play tomorrow in the Aussie open final is incredible and Serena is going after Stefi Grafs record of 25 grand slam titles.

mens Australian Open semi final 26-1-17

35 year old Roger Federer beat 31 year old Stan Wavwenka both players came from Switzerland in the first 2 sets Federer seemed to have complete control  winning 7-5, 6-3but Wavwinka seemed to have got the sense of control from an injury time out just before the third in the third as it felt like Federer lost his edge but Wavwenka did win the fourth 6-4 and we saw that Roger was improving it wasn’t until WQavwenka made a double fault in the 6th game of the 5th  set when Federrer used his injury time out to rest this helped Federre  to get control of the match and he never looked back as he did not loose a game after that

women's semis 26-1-17

A match of the legends in the  women’s final will be played on Saturday as Venus will be playing her sister Serena Williams in an all American Australian open  final.

First there was 35 year old  Serena who cruised into the final after beating unseeded Mirjana Lucic from Croatia 6-2, 6-1 and she showed in this match way she should be considered the greatest tennis player in the world.

In the other semi-final 36 year old  Venus was able to roll back the years with a 3 set win over Vandeweghe and after losing the first set in a tie break Venus came back to win the next 2 sets 6-2, 6-3. She has shown in this match that the years have not caught up with her and given Serena something to aspire to in years to come

25-1-17 Australian open mens quarters

Spaniard Rafa Nadal rolled back the years in beating no 3 seed from Canada Milos Ranoic 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 and he did look to have that thing back which made me think he cant loosed on clay he would not have been a player I thought would reach the semis as I felt his best years were behind him he might have another major in him yet if not this one then maybe the next as a kid he ruled rthe French open

Gregor Dimitrov from Russia defeated David Goffin from Belgium 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 and definitely has to think he has a chance at the title even though at the start of this competision no one would have saw him as a contender

women's quarter final 25-1-17

In the women’s draw Serena Williams from the USA defeated Joanna Konta from GB6-3, 6-2 Serena has to be favorite for this entire competition

Her opponent Lucic Baroni from Croatia an unseeded player Pliskova from the Chech Republic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 I don’t think she stands a chance against Serena
